August was a busy month so I never got round to doing my July wrap up, and yet somehow I had enough time to read 8 books (it would have been 9 if I hadn’t of gotten so distracted by Sherlock fanfiction). I have been on holiday though so I guess that’s fair enough. Advertisements
As to be expected I was doing fairly well on the whole ‘not acquiring a ton of books’ front up until YALC at the end of the month. To give myself some credit though I could have come away with a whole lot more than I did.
I amassed quite a pile of samplers over the duration of YALC last weekend, ranging in length from a handful to seventy-two pages. It’s taken me a little while to get through them all but here are my thoughts on each one – settle down as this is pretty lengthy…
Blimey, what a weekend. From carnage at proof drops to signing queues that lasted for hours, YALC 2017 was certainly crazy. There was also the small matter of a certain actor reducing us all to swooning giggling messes multiple times a day.
I hit a bit of a mental brick wall and so haven’t updated this for a little while. My apologies. With YALC fast approaching (just a couple of days left to go!) I thought I better catch you up on what I’ve been reading and buying recently.
I thought I was doing reasonably well with only buying four books this month, but then I had a bit of an end of the month splurge. It was for a good reason though so I guess it’s not too naughty of me.
I had two weeks off work in April which significantly helped me to finish nine books, which amounted to a remarkable 3,421 pages. Just imagine how many books I could read in a year if I didn’t have to work.
